Schemes

A. Central Sector Schemes:
•    Rastriya  Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY)-  Implemented for all round development of Agriculture and allied sectors for food security. Implemented from 2008-09.
•    National Food Security Mission (NFSM, Rice)- Implemented for development of Rice cultivation. Morigaon is one of the thirteen districts where this scheme has been implemented from 2007-08
•    Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEH)– Implemented for development of horticulture in the state implemented from 2001-02 as National Horticultural Mission, Mini Mission II, now renamed as HMNEH under which area expansion programmes are taken up for the thrust crops like Banana, Assam Lemon etc.
•    Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA)- Implemented for strengthening agricultural extension system through ATMA. Morigaon is one of the fourteen districts where the CSS ATMA has been implemented since 2006-07.
•    Macro Management Mode of Agriculture (MMMA)- Implemented for taking up various schemes identified to meet the requirement of the state. Implemented from the year 2000-2001.
•    Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)- To attracted investment in irrigation system at field level , develop and expand cultivatable land in the country, enhance ranch water use in order to minimize wastage of water , enhance crop per drop by implementing water saving technologies and precision irrigation.
•    Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana ( PMFBY)- To provide more efficient insurance support to the farmers of the country by providing low premium insurance cover to the farmer if the crop is damaged by any natural calamities.
•    National Mission on Oil and Oil Palm(NMOOP)- To envisages increase in production of oil seeds and oil palm.
•    Soil Health Cards - Aims at promoting integrated nutrient management through judicious use of chemical fertilizers including secondary and micro nutrients in conjunction with organic manures and bio fertilizers for improving soil health and its productivity.
•    Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi(PM-Kisan)- Financial assistant of Rs. 6000/- to small and marginal and other farmers.
•    Kisan Credit Card(KCC)- To meet the comprehensive credit requirements of agriculture sector by giving financial support to the farmers.

 

B. State Plan Schemes:
•    Jute Development scheme- Implemented for Development of cultivation and processing of jute.
•    Sugarcane Development Scheme- Implemented for development of sugarcane cultivation and introduction of new varieties 
•    Assam Agricultural Competitiveness Project (Externally Aided Project): An World Bank assisted project for activities like farm mechanization, irrigation, market development etc.
•    NAEP III- Implemented for distribution of inputs for cereal, pulse and oilseed crops.
•    Seed Farm & Nursery- Implemented for development of seed farm and nurseries established under the department.
•    Disaster Management Programme- Implemented for assistance for natural calamity affected farmers.
•    Technology Mission- Special Jute Development Programme- Special programme for jute development.
•    Agril. Mechanization – for distribution of tractors at subsidized rate.
•    World Bank funded Assam project on Agri Business and Rural Transformation (APART)- Introduction of climate resilient varieties of crop and market led production in cluster based approach to enhance farmers income.
•    Chief Minister Samagra Grammya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) - Distribution of tractors to farmer with subsidy.
•    MukhyaMantri Krishi Sa-Sajuli Yojana(MMKSSY)- Financial assistance of Rs 5000/- to the small and marginal farmers.
•    Coconut Development Board(CDB)- This Scheme been launched for the holistic development of horticulture sector in the country. For inter cropping , cultivation of black pepper and Assam lemon are done in between coconut plantation.
•    Rural Infrastructure Development Fund(RIDF)- Distribution of solar pump @ 85% govt. subsidy and diesel and electric pumps to farmers at 75% subsidy.
